John Wayne patch

Yer dang strait! WWJWD? There's a story behind this image. A couple months ago, a SPC Ryan "John Wayne" Rowley, a US soldier deployed in Afghanistan, contacted me. I'd drawn a caricature of John Wayne, and he wanted to use the image for a patch on his body armor! That was pretty cool, and I told him he could definitely do that. This morning I got this one in the mail. It's so awesome! The patch designers did a great job! There are only three of these patches in existence. I have this one, and Ryan has already worn his in combat. Thanks, Ryan, and good luck to all our troops!

Is this guy still around?

Clint Eastwood, Slightly Colored

Here's my Clint caricature again, this time slightly colored and textured. I also refined the original painting a bit. I think I needed to paint in color in the first place, or at least sooner, or get a different coloring method. I'll try it again shortly (although I still think this one is cool).

Clint Eastwood Painting

So, I started to paint this Clint caricature in black and white with the idea of colorizing it like the videos on Ryan Wood's and Mark Behm's blog (nice work, gentleman). I think I went too far with the values though, and it's being un-easy to color... I'll come back to it shortly, as right now I'm going to sleep.

More Paintings

I found a great book by Don Seegmiller about digital character painting in photoshop. The black haired fellow is the result of one of Don's tutorials. It's not my design, but I am proud of it... The top painting is Bruce Willis. He can blow up an airborne helicopter with an SUV. It's also my own design! I'm getting better, I think!

Some Guy Named Dale

His face disturbs me.

Clint Eastwood

Here, I thought I'd try something, at least in some respect, completely different.

Evel Knievel Caricature

This guy deserves a caricature. I watched a documentary on Evel Knievel a while ago... It took about 8 tries before I was satisfied with him. Also, I really hope this hair style comes back. I would look awesome with it. Also the stars and stripes. Heck, I need a motorcycle, too.

Sebastian Kruger Caricature!

Sebastian Kruger is an amazing caricature artist as well as a portrait artist. From his expressive and outgoing nature, I'd guess his workshops are a hoot...

Check out my other caricatures!

GOP Presidential Debate Caricatures

I want to push my caricatures more than I have previously, so here are some attempts from the Florida GOP debate, all with varying levels of success. Click for larger image. Collect them all!

Better Salvador Dali Caricature

Here's a new Salvador Dali Caricature. I think this version is soooo much more appealing at it took about half the time and effort. Woo-hoo!

Salvador Dali Caricature

Here's one I'm somewhat satisfied with... I made a better one now, so please look at it, too! It is, of course, Mr. Salvador Dali himself.

John Wayne Caricature

I made this one for my Dad for Christmas. It's John Wayne from "True Grit".

Update: Ryan Rowley, a US soldier currently deployed in Afghanistan, contacted me a while back. He wanted to use this image for a body armor patch! He made it, and sent me one. It's about the coolest thing ever.

I'm addicted

Both to drawing caricatures, and to this show, of which I just finished the first season on DVD. My roommate had it. It was like giving me crack. Too bad I can't paint the future.

By the way, this guy is an awesome villain... He's just so dang bad!

Another

I did this one a few weeks back, along with many others I did not deem worthy to post... I liked this one, though, even though it is not very exaggerated. I also did not do all guys, it's just that the girl charicatures sucked. I should work on that.

More Charicatures

I've decided that drawing charicatures is important to my personal well being. Hopefully, you can tell who they are...

Another Character

I really liked how this one turned out, despite the fact that you probably can't tell who it was supposed to be. Oh, well. I'll upload the line drawing and colored version.

Another Charicature

This fellow is not famous, he was just a model from class. And he was a pirate.

Christopher Walken and BB King Caricatures

So, I finally decided to post some art, despite my fear of the internet. Just kidding about the internet. Laugh Out Loud.
